We are excited to share that the Meral Polat Trio has been nominated at the prestigious 16th Songlines Music Awards! This year’s awards celebrate exceptional talent, from Best Artist and Best Group, both chosen by readers, to regional categories highlighting the best albums from around the globe, and Best Newcomer, an accolade for a groundbreaking debut, all selected by Songlines’ music critics.

These nominations recognize albums released in 2023 that were featured in Songlines issues from March 2023 (#185) to January/February 2024 (#194). The nominated works address themes of resistance, home, unity, friendship, and love, while showcasing outstanding musicianship.

The Meral Polat Trio is proud to be on the Fusion short list, which includes four distinguished nominees. We are honored to be part of this celebration of global musical excellence.
